Getting Started in Wilmette
Wilmette has Third Coast Mahjong, a community on Linden Avenue that teaches American-style mahjong and the National Mah Jongg League card. New players start with Mahj 101, a small class, and can move on to Mahj 102 and 103 and guided open play before joining regular open play, where you bring your own NMJL card (a few loaners are available). Open play runs several times a week.
New to the game? Read What Is American Mahjong? and the Beginner Guide before your first visit. Times and places change, so check the event page before you go.
